 Maximising the impact of SENDCOs

This course will provide advanced level training for SENDCOs in primary schools. It recognises the crucial and increasing role of the SENDCO as a key person in every school. It is crucial therefore that every school ensures that the SENDCO has access to excellent continuing professional development. This course goes beyond the basic training that SENDCOs receive and offers them advanced level training which has been designed to enhance and further develop their key professional role in school.

The two days are each made up of three modules making six modules in total. All course members completing the two day training will be awarded the Advanced Certificate of Completion.

Outline of the two days:


Being the SENCO – the specialist, consultant, expert and enthusiast

Module 1: SEND Regulations and Legal Duties

Module 2: Developing an Inclusive Education for SEND Pupils

Module 3: Working in Partnership with Key SEND Stakeholders -The Graduated Approach



Making the Difference to SEND Provision in your School

Module 4: Improving Outcomes for SEND pupils

Module 5: High incidence disabilities and their Impact on Learning and Development

Module 6: Making Effective Interventions

A memory stick containing all of the key documents will be given to course members on each of the days

Course Days: Delegates are asked to arrive at 9.30am for a 10.00am start and the day ends at 3.00pm

Croissants, fresh fruit, bacon rolls and refreshments on arrival; fruit juice, tea and coffee at break and a two course lunch in the restaurant will provided for delegates

Course Fee: £450.00 plus VAT (In total for the two days)

• A refund of 50% will be made where a booking is cancelled at least seven days prior to the date of the course.
